Centrick team helps baby loss charity move to new HQ

A team from leading residential and commercial property specialist Centrick rolled up their sleeves to help transform the new headquarters of Birmingham charity The Lily Mae Foundation.

The charity, which supports families and parents after stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage or medical termination in the West Midlands, is expanding into new premises at Fernhill Court, Balsall Street, Balsall Common.

Centrick’s team of volunteers – Bethan Roskell, Georgina Taylor, Hollie Frail, Nicola Hopley, Matt Halford and Michael Nabarro – helped to spruce up the new offices by painting walls, cleaning windows and steam cleaning a patio area, over three days.

The Lily Mae Foundation was set up by Ryan and Amy Jackson after their daughter Lily Mae was ‘born sleeping’ in 2010. Since then, Ryan and Amy have campaigned with passion to honour the memory of their daughter and all other babies born too poorly, too soon or sleeping.

Since its inception the charity has raised more than £250,000. It works alongside medical and healthcare professionals, other charities and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Baby Loss.

Centrick chairman James Ackrill said:

“We were very proud to support the Lily Mae Foundation by helping to decorate the charity’s new offices. Led by Ryan and Amy, it is a wonderful charity doing exceptional work that benefits people in their hour of need.

“Not only do they support anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby, they also raise awareness of how tragically common the loss of a baby is.”

Stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage and medical termination devastates the lives of more than 3,500 parents every year. Not only that, the loss of a baby is seen as a taboo subject, so parents are not encouraged to seek the support that they so desperately need. The Lily Mae Foundation is working tirelessly to change that.

The Funds that The Lily Mae Foundation receives help it to provide:

• Memory boxes to bereaved parents and memory making kits to grandparents
• Sibling support packs
• Counselling support for parents, siblings and family members.
• 1-2-1 baby loss support service (BLSS)
• Information to parents, families and to healthcare and medical professionals.
• Training and support for midwives, student midwives and neonatal nurses.
• Research into the prevention of the loss of a baby.
